According to Cadena COPE, Arsenal currently lead the race for the 25-year-old, with negotiations progressing well. However, nothing has been finalized. A phone call from Real Madrid could shift the landscape entirely, especially with the club's new manager, Xabi Alonso, reportedly a big admirer. Alonso previously coached Zubimendi in Real Sociedad’s B team, and that personal connection could prove pivotal.
Zubimendi has long expressed a preference for playing at the Santiago Bernabéu. His agent is now awaiting a potential approach from Real Madrid—one that hasn’t arrived yet, but hasn’t been ruled out either. With Luka Modric’s departure creating a gap in midfield, Zubimendi’s €60 million release clause might soon become a priority investment.
For now, the future of one of La Liga’s most talented midfielders remains open. All it could take is a single call from Madrid to change everything.
