Xabi Alonso spoke at a press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s LaLiga clash with Getafe, set for Sunday (9:00 p.m.) at the Coliseum. The coach made his stance clear regarding the controversial Villarreal–Barcelona match scheduled to be played in Miami.
“My opinion is the same as when you asked me two months ago. We are against the match because it corrupts the competition,” Alonso stated. “There has been no unanimity or consultation to play it on neutral ground. The protests are positive because many clubs share that view. The decisions to prevent this from happening belong to others, but our position remains unchanged.”
