Florentino Pérez is aiming to respond to Enrique Riquelme’s campaign promises with a major statement of his own, after announcing plans to pursue a Galáctico signing that would become the most expensive transfer in Real Madrid’s history, valued at around €150 million.

Speaking during his appearance on Horizonte, Pérez stated that the player in question is not among the names suggested by interviewer Iker Jiménez, ruling out Michael Olise, Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Jeremy Doku, and confirming that the target also does not play in the Premier League. These clues have left the identity of the player wide open, although several possible candidates have already been mentioned in media reports.

According to Fabrizio Romano, João Neves and Vitinha, two key midfielders at Paris Saint-Germain, are among the profiles being considered. Both players are represented by Jorge Mendes, whose renewed relationship with Real Madrid has been highlighted in recent months, particularly following José Mourinho’s return.

Arancha Rodríguez of Cadena COPE has also pointed to Neves as a leading candidate, suggesting he could be the focus of Real Madrid’s interest.

Other names have also entered the discussion, including Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is currently in strong form. However, Vinícius Jr.’s established role on the left wing is seen as reducing the likelihood of a move for the Georgian winger. As a result, Désiré Doué has been mentioned as a more natural fit for the right-sided attacking role.

Florentino’s announcement has generated excitement among supporters, although the deal is not yet finalized. Attention now turns to Sunday’s elections and the following days, when the identity of Real Madrid’s next major signing is expected to become clearer.
