Vitinha’s performances have drawn significant attention, with many considering the Portuguese midfielder a decisive factor in the successes of both Paris Saint-Germain and the Portugal national team last season. His dynamism, ability to break defensive lines, and, above all, the character and presence he brings to PSG’s game have made him the subject of numerous summer transfer rumors, some linking him to Real Madrid.

At present, a direct deal between Kylian Mbappé’s former club and Real Madrid appears highly unlikely unless an exit clause comes into play. That clause does exist for the energetic Portuguese midfielder, though it does not mean Real Madrid is solely focused on him, as the club also keeps an eye on other players in Luis Enrique’s squad.

Vitinha, now 25, is under contract until June 30, 2029. However, the release clause under discussion would allow him to leave for 90 million euros in the summer of 2026, following the World Cup in the United States.

The midfielder has established himself as the heartbeat of PSG and a central figure in Portugal’s Nations League triumph. His candidacy for major individual awards is unquestioned.

Within Real Madrid, the sporting management is well aware that the central midfield area will require reinforcement sooner or later. While no moves are expected this summer, Vitinha’s name remains on the shortlist, and it is widely understood in football circles that his transfer would involve a significant, yet realistic, fee.
