Vitinha has emerged as a name on Real Madrid’s shortlist. The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder is viewed as the club’s ideal profile to strengthen a midfield that has been searching for long-term successors to Toni Kroos and Luka Modric. Angelo Stiller, Kees Smit, and Adam Wharton have all been mentioned in recent months, but none carry the same status as the Portuguese international, a cornerstone of Luis Enrique’s PSG side and widely regarded as one of the best players in his position. The Athletic has confirmed Madrid’s interest.
Journalist Guillermo Rai also reports that “Real Madrid have been linked with Vitinha,” although he stresses that completing the deal would be extremely difficult. “People close to him believe it is impossible for him to leave PSG,” he explains. The strained relationship between the two clubs further complicates any potential negotiations, especially given the financial dimension of the operation. According to Transfermarkt, Vitinha’s current market value stands at €110 million.
The midfielder, represented by Jorge Mendes, is under contract with PSG until 2029. A Champions League winner with the French club and a central figure in their sporting project, he forms a near-untouchable partnership with fellow Portuguese international João Neves. While Real Madrid continue to monitor his situation, the club internally considers the transfer virtually unfeasible.
As a result, the Merengues have also been linked with other, more attainable midfield options, at least on paper. What remains clear is that Real Madrid are actively and seriously searching for a new playmaker to reshape their midfield for the future.
