Vinicius Jr.'s contract renewal with Real Madrid has reached a standstill, with negotiations currently on hold.

According to ESPN Brazil, there are no active talks between the player's representatives and the club. Discussions have completely stalled, and neither side has taken the initiative to restart negotiations that appeared to be moving in a positive direction only a few weeks ago.

The report claims that Vinicius' camp believes it is now up to Real Madrid to make the next move by presenting a proposal capable of breaking the deadlock. So far, however, the club has not submitted a new offer.

The main differences continue to revolve around the player's image rights and the overall financial structure of his new contract, although recent reports suggested the two sides had begun to move closer to an agreement.

Despite the current impasse, both parties remain hopeful of reaching a deal. Real Madrid still consider Vinicius a fundamental part of the club's long-term project, while José Mourinho has privately reiterated the Brazilian's importance to his plans. Until one side decides to restart negotiations, however, the renewal of one of the club's biggest stars will remain on hold.
