Vinícius Jr. once again left the pitch visibly upset after being substituted by Xabi Alonso during Real Madrid’s Champions League clash in Almaty. But this time, his frustration was not directed at the coach, but rather at a series of plays involving teammates Arda Güler and Mastantuono.

Early in the second half, Güler opted to find Mbappé in space instead of passing to Vinícius, who was in a clearer, wide position. The chance ended with the Kazakh goalkeeper stopping Mbappé’s effort, but Vinícius was already gesturing with his arms to show his displeasure at being overlooked.

The situation escalated minutes later when Mastantuono, receiving a clever pass from Mbappé on the edge of the box, decided to shoot instead of squaring the ball to Vinícius, who was unmarked in front of goal. The Argentine’s shot was blocked, and Vinícius openly criticized him on the pitch for not passing.

By the time Alonso called him to the bench, the Brazilian’s irritation had reached its peak. As he left the pitch, he pointed toward the field while exchanging words with the coaching staff, clearly trying to explain his anger about the missed opportunities.
