Real Madrid has reportedly decided to maintain its full confidence in Federico Valverde despite the controversy surrounding his altercation with Aurélien Tchouaméni.
The incident, which caused major reaction among supporters after details emerged publicly, led to disciplinary action from the club. According to reports, both players received fines of €500,000, while club president Florentino Pérez downplayed the episode, insisting that similar situations had occurred internally in previous years but had never become public.
According to El Chiringuito de Jugones, Real Madrid informed Valverde on the same day as the sanction that he would still become one of the team captains next season following the departure of Dani Carvajal.
The decision is seen as a strong show of support from the club, especially amid recent speculation linking Valverde with a possible move away from Madrid, including reported interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
Part of the fanbase had questioned Valverde’s leadership credentials after the incident and following his public reaction afterward. However, internally, the club reportedly continues to value both his professionalism and his long-term commitment to Real Madrid.
With the captaincy now expected to be part of his future role, the club appears determined to keep the Uruguayan midfielder at the center of its project moving forward.
