Valencia are exploring the transfer market for defensive reinforcements, and one of the names under consideration is Real Madrid youngster Joan Martínez.
The 18-year-old centre-back, who joined Real Madrid from Levante's academy in 2023, is regarded as one of the club's most promising defensive prospects. Despite suffering a serious knee injury, Joan has already earned first-team call-ups under both Xabi Alonso and Álvaro Arbeloa.
According to the report, Valencia have explored the possibility of signing the defender on loan with an option to buy. The proposed deal would also allow Real Madrid to retain a percentage of the player's economic rights, following the model the club has often used with academy players who leave permanently.
Joan Martínez is under contract with Real Madrid until 2029. Although no significant progress has been made in negotiations, Valencia's interest in the young defender remains firm.
