According to ESPN journalist Rodra, Juni Calafat and his scouting team are closely tracking the progress of Nico Schlotterbeck and Castello Lukeba. Both defenders are viewed internally as strong candidates to reinforce the squad and are considered high-level options for the future of Real Madrid’s back line.

Schlotterbeck is currently a key figure at Borussia Dortmund, while Lukeba has become one of RB Leipzig’s most important defensive players. Their performances have not gone unnoticed, prompting Real Madrid to explore all possible avenues to bring one of them, or potentially both, to the Santiago Bernabéu.

Contract situations could play a decisive role in any future move. Lukeba is tied to Leipzig until 2028, meaning any deal would likely require a significant financial investment. Schlotterbeck’s situation is slightly different, as his contract with Borussia Dortmund runs until 2027, which could open the door to a more affordable transfer if the German defender pushes for a move to Real Madrid.
