Before the second game of the league playoff semi-finals against Bitci Baskonia at the WiZink Center, there was an emotional tribute to the club's all-time leading foreign appearance-maker (709), Jaycee Carroll. Following the team presentation, the guard and his family walked to the center of the court to watch a video of his most memorable moments in Los Blancos shirt before Felipe Reyes presented him with a commemorative jersey.
Carroll then had some words for the fans: “I wanted to come back here to say thank you to you all. To Real Madrid, for giving me the chance to fulfil my dreams. A decade I could never have imagined. I was lucky enough to be here with a whole range of teammates. Thank you to Laso for designing the three-point plays, the centers for their blocks and the best point guards in the world for giving me assists. I'd like to thank my family because without them I couldn't have been here for so many years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and I will be eternally grateful. I love you all”. The fans responded with a standing ovation for the American, who posed for photos alongside the team.
He won 20 titles during his ten years with Real Madrid, including two Euroleagues, one Intercontinental Cup, five leagues, six Copas del Rey, and six Super Cups. Carroll is also the third most capped Real Madrid player of all time, trailing only Felipe Reyes and Sergio Llull. He joined the club during the 2011-12 season and was an integral part of one of the team's golden eras.
