Real Madrid is reportedly prioritizing player departures ahead of the upcoming transfer window as part of a new strategy focused on reducing the size of the first-team squad.
The club believes that one of the current issues within the dressing room is linked to dissatisfaction over limited playing time, leading the board to favor a more balanced squad structure next season.
In addition to redefining roles within the team, Real Madrid also intends to generate income through player sales. Several players, including David Alaba and Dani Carvajal, could leave as free agents, while other departures are expected to involve transfer fees.
One of the players attracting significant interest is Gonzalo García. The striker is reportedly among the candidates to leave due to the strong competition in Real Madrid’s attacking line.
According to SPORT1, representatives close to Gonzalo García have already started talks with Borussia Dortmund, one of the clubs most interested in signing the forward.
The report states that Dortmund would prefer an initial loan deal that includes either a purchase option or a clause granting the German side 50% of the player’s rights, with a valuation between €20 million and €35 million.
However, Real Madrid would reportedly demand more than €60 million for a permanent transfer of the striker.
