The international break could provide a valuable opportunity for Thiago Pitarch to regain his rhythm. Real Madrid have reportedly planned for the midfielder to join Castilla for the next few weeks, allowing him to build up his fitness and gain the playing time he has been missing.

Pitarch returned to José Mourinho’s first-team squad two weeks ago but has not featured in any of the four matches against Inter, Rayo Vallecano, Elche or Atlético Madrid.

Unless there is a change of plans, the midfielder is expected to join Castilla and could feature tomorrow against Sant Andreu in the rescheduled fixture.

After a knee injury forced him to miss the entire preseason, Mourinho has reportedly given the green light for the academy player to return to action with the reserve team during the international break.

Real Madrid will not play again until October 10, while Castilla have three league matches scheduled during that period. The plan would allow Pitarch to accumulate valuable minutes and gradually regain his rhythm before returning to Mourinho’s squad.

Although he is registered with Real Madrid’s first team, Pitarch remains officially a Castilla player. The club therefore wants to use the international break to give the midfielder the playing time needed to fully integrate into the season after his injury.
