Vinicius Junior's contract negotiations have reached their final stage, with Real Madrid willing to sign a new deal for their Brazilian star this week.

Although they intend to officially announce the deal in July, when the players return from vacation, the club hopes to reach an agreement within the next 10 days.

The only issue that has yet to be resolved is the length of the new agreement, with the current one expiring in 2024. Real Madrid proposed extending it until 2028, but Vinicius preferred a slightly shorter term, until 2026 or 2027.

Real Madrid are willing to increase his salary from 3.2 million euros, which could rise to four million euros depending on bonuses, to 10 million euros, which would rise if certain objectives are met.

His buyout clause will be increased from 350 million euros to one billion euros. Real Madrid set this amount for their big stars in order to keep state-owned clubs away from their best players.

It is symbolic in Vinicius' case, given that the former Flamengo forward has never agreed to listen to offers from various suitors, even when he has received criticism in the past.

The Brazilian international made a significant investment in constructing a new home in Madrid to which he moved in November 2021, certain that he will not leave the Spanish capital.
