After welcoming back Lucas Vázquez and Rodrygo, Carlo Ancelotti's next key player to rejoin the squad will be Aurélien Tchouaméni. The French midfielder is expected to be available for Real Madrid’s upcoming clash against Athletic Club at San Mamés next Wednesday. Tchouaméni will resume training with the team on Monday, and if everything goes well, he will be included in the matchday squad.

Tchouaméni has been out since November 5th, and a month later, his return is highly anticipated, especially with Eduardo Camavinga now sidelined after picking up an injury at Anfield last week. Ancelotti will be relieved to have the Frenchman back, not only as a crucial midfielder but also as an additional option in central defence, although Asencio's impressive rise has eased that burden. With Asencio solidifying his partnership with Rüdiger, Ancelotti will now have the flexibility to use Tchouaméni in his preferred midfield role without having to rely on him as a centre-back.
