Manchester United are preparing a fresh attempt to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni as they continue to reshape their squad during the summer transfer window.

According to El Larguero journalist Antón Meana, the Real Madrid midfielder has become one of United's priority targets after the club failed to secure the signing of Elliot Anderson earlier in the window.

Tchouaméni has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for several weeks, although speculation cooled after the French international agreed a new contract with Real Madrid.

However, the renewal has not completely ended doubts over his future. Reports suggest the Spanish club could still make changes to its midfield as it pursues the signings of Rodri Hernández from Manchester City and Yan Diomandé from RB Leipzig.

The report adds that Tchouaméni would be open to joining Manchester United if Real Madrid make it clear that he is no longer part of the club's long-term plans. Even so, his priority remains staying at the Santiago Bernabéu and establishing himself as a key player.

Despite the challenges involved, Manchester United are expected to press ahead with their interest and will attempt to convince both the player and Real Madrid that a transfer would benefit all parties.
