The Real Madrid dressing room appears to have moved on from one of the biggest conflicts between its players, with Aurélien Tchouaméni and Federico Valverde providing a clear sign of their restored relationship after the match against Elche.

The Frenchman and the Uruguayan were involved in a major confrontation within the Real Madrid squad last season. The incident took place in May during a training session, when an argument on the pitch continued into the dressing room. Valverde subsequently had to go to hospital for treatment after suffering a blow.

The incident came during a difficult period for a dressing room that had become increasingly fractured, with Arbeloa attempting to deal with an internal situation that had escalated significantly.

However, with José Mourinho now in charge, the atmosphere inside the squad appears to have changed. The relationship between Tchouaméni and Valverde seems to have been repaired, with the two midfielders showing that the previous tensions are now behind them.

The clearest evidence came at the final whistle against Elche, when Tchouaméni and Valverde exchanged a handshake before embracing each other.

The moment offered another indication of the improved atmosphere within Mourinho’s dressing room, as two players previously involved in a serious confrontation publicly showed that their relationship has been restored.
