Jesús Navas has announced his retirement from football after Sevilla's match against Real Madrid, citing age and injuries as reasons for his decision.
According to Defensa Central, Sevilla is now eyeing Real Madrid’s Lucas Vázquez as a potential replacement for their captain. Sevilla plans to sign Vázquez in the summer of 2025, when he may leave Madrid on a free transfer.
Vázquez has performed admirably in Dani Carvajal’s absence due to injury but is expected to move on when his contract expires next year, with Real Madrid reportedly targeting Trent Alexander-Arnold as a new right-back option.
