Sevilla have officially announced the signing of Fran González from Real Madrid, completing the transfer of one of the club's most highly rated academy goalkeepers.
The agreement sees Sevilla pay an initial €1 million, plus performance-related add-ons, in exchange for 50% of the player's rights. As part of the deal, Real Madrid have also secured several buy-back clauses that can be activated during the next three transfer windows for fees ranging between €3 million and €5 million, depending on when they decide to exercise the option.
The structure of the transfer allows Fran González to gain regular first-team experience while ensuring Real Madrid retain significant control over the goalkeeper's long-term future should they decide to bring him back to the Santiago Bernabéu.
