A new era begins at Real Madrid. Sergio Scariolo (Brescia, Italy, 1961) will take over as head coach, replacing Chus Mateo, who departs the club despite having one year left on his contract. Still serving as the head coach of the Spanish national team until the conclusion of the 2025 European Championship, as he confirmed on Wednesday, Scariolo has reached an agreement with Real Madrid for what will be his second spell in charge of the team.
The Italian coach previously led Real Madrid from 1999 to 2002, winning the Liga ACB title in his debut season. His return marks the beginning of a new chapter for the club.
