The Real Madrid Hall of Fame is filled with legendary names who shaped the club’s history. Some left in glory, others under less favorable circumstances. Among them is Sergio Ramos, regarded by many as the greatest defender in the club’s 123-year history. Now playing for Rayados de Monterrey, the former Madrid captain gave an interview on El Hormiguero, where he opened up about his future—and the possibility of returning to the Bernabéu.
Ramos admitted that in recent years he had been willing to rejoin Real Madrid, especially when the team was hit by defensive injuries: “In recent years, if there has been any possibility due to injuries, the club has always known that I was open to coming back. But I also understand Real Madrid’s circumstances, which is about rejuvenating the squad for the future.”
The defender, who left Madrid in 2021 to join PSG, revealed that his ties with Florentino Pérez remain strong and that a reunion is inevitable: “Everyone knows I’m a Real Madrid fan, and one way or another, I’ll return.”
The only question is in what role. While Ramos sees his legacy tied to Madrid, he also hinted at new horizons beyond football. Far from imagining himself lifting another Champions League trophy as a coach, he joked that he dreams of winning a Grammy for his music—his latest track has already become a hit.
