Real Madrid's pre-season details have been finalized, set to commence on July 15 with three friendlies in the United States, including a Clásico against Barcelona. This summer’s pre-season is unusual due to the Euro Cup and Copa America, which delays the return of many international players, and the European Super Cup on August 14, which shortens the training period. The team will face Milan, Barcelona, and Chelsea in that order.
Pre-season activities begin on July 15 with 'non-international' players returning to work at Valdebebas under the Madrid sun. Confirmed attendees include Courtois, Lucas Vázquez, Alaba, Vallejo, Fran García, Ceballos, Reinier, and Brahim, with the possibility of Rafa Marín joining, pending his situation with Napoli.
International players will join gradually based on their national team's progress in the Euro Cup and Copa América, with the earliest returnees being Lunin and Modric, who will participate in the tour. Only those reaching the semi-finals are permitted to be absent; the rest must attend the training camp.
Training in Madrid will last until July 28, followed by departure to the United States for a shorter-than-usual tour of three games instead of four, without a base camp at UCLA. The friendlies are scheduled as follows: against Milan in Chicago on August 1 at 3:30 a.m., against Barcelona in New Jersey on August 4 at 1 a.m., and against Chelsea in Charlotte on August 7 at 1 a.m. All matches are part of the DirecTV Soccer Champions Tour, expected to generate €20 million.
Following the Chelsea match, the team will return to Madrid to prepare for the European Super Cup against Atalanta on August 14 in Warsaw. This year's tight schedule eliminates the possibility of hosting the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy. The team will train in Madrid until August 12, then travel to Poland to conclude the pre-season and commence the new season.
