It has now become clear: Rodrygo has fallen down the pecking order. Not only is he behind Arda Güler, as many anticipated, but he's also now being surpassed by Gonzalo García and Brahim Díaz. Despite Brahim having played fewer total minutes, Xabi Alonso’s public comments regarding both players suggest a clear direction moving forward.

With the Club World Cup nearing its end, Rodrygo may now be forced to reconsider his future, particularly with interest from Premier League clubs still active. A move abroad might be his only realistic path to consistent playing time.

Further complicating matters is the impending arrival of Franco Mastantuono. The Argentine wonderkid is expected to join in August with a prominent role already envisioned. Known for operating from the right and drifting into central areas, Mastantuono's profile overlaps directly with Rodrygo’s, potentially closing the door on the Brazilian’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu.
