Real Madrid remain firmly interested in signing Rodri this summer despite the Manchester City midfielder's latest fitness concern.

After weeks of speculation, the Spain international is increasingly viewed as one of the club's priority targets to strengthen the midfield ahead of the new season. However, Rodri is expected to undergo an outpatient medical assessment after sustaining a minor gluteal strain.

According to Cadena SER, the issue is considered minor and did not cause the midfielder any discomfort during the World Cup. He is expected to use the summer break to complete his recovery.

The report also states that the injury has not altered Real Madrid's transfer plans. Club officials reportedly remain convinced that Rodri is the right player for José Mourinho's midfield and do not see the setback as a factor that could jeopardize a potential deal.

With reports suggesting the World Cup Golden Ball winner could be available for a fee of around €50 million, Real Madrid view the Spaniard as an outstanding market opportunity. The club also believes any lingering concerns over his previous knee injury have been put to rest following his impressive performances throughout the tournament.
