New details have emerged regarding reports linking Rodri with Enrique Riquelme's presidential project at Real Madrid.
According to Cadena COPE journalist Miguel Ángel Díaz, people close to the Manchester City midfielder have confirmed that a conversation recently took place between Rodri and Riquelme.
"Rodri's entourage acknowledges that he had a conversation with Enrique Riquelme a few days ago. The candidate expressed his desire to have the midfielder on his team in the future."
However, Rodri's representatives insist that no formal talks have taken place regarding a potential move.
"His entourage assures that there have been no negotiations so far."
Furthermore, his entourage wanted to make it clear that "Rodri is 100% focused on the World Cup and is currently in the process of renewing his contract with Manchester City, although the two sides are far apart at the moment."
