Rodri Hernández was spotted in Madrid on Monday as the Manchester City midfielder underwent a minor medical procedure to address the back discomfort he has been experiencing in recent weeks.

The recently crowned World Cup winner with Spain, who continues to be heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid, reportedly underwent a spinal injection, a minimally invasive procedure that does not require hospitalization.

The treatment consists of injecting medication—typically a corticosteroid combined with a local anesthetic—into a targeted area of the spine to reduce inflammation, relieve pain, and accelerate recovery. It is a common procedure among elite athletes dealing with persistent back pain, nerve irritation, or injuries that have not responded to more conservative treatments.

The fact that Rodri did not require hospitalization suggests the procedure was routine. Nevertheless, the midfielder will undergo a period of monitoring and rehabilitation before returning to full training.

Should his reported move to Real Madrid be completed in the coming weeks, his availability for the opening match of the season could remain in doubt while he completes his recovery.
