Lille have already begun planning for the possible departure of one of their brightest young talents. According to Matteo Moretto, the French club are interested in signing Jorge Cestero to strengthen their midfield should Ayyoub Bouaddi leave this summer.
Bouaddi has emerged as one of the leading candidates to replace Rodri at Manchester City if the Spanish midfielder completes his long-rumored move to Real Madrid. With the Madrid club pushing to reinforce their midfield, Rodri continues to be one of the priority targets linked with a return to Spain.
Such a transfer could trigger a domino effect across Europe. Real Madrid would sign Rodri, Manchester City would move for Bouaddi as his replacement, and Lille would then need to find a successor for the French youngster.
According to Moretto, Jorge Cestero has become one of the names on Lille's shortlist. The French club's interest in the Spanish midfielder is therefore closely linked to the potential chain reaction created by Rodri's proposed move to Real Madrid.
For now, everything depends on whether the first transfer is completed. However, Lille's pursuit of Cestero highlights how several clubs are already preparing for what could become one of the summer's biggest transfer domino effects.
