Enrique Riquelme has included two symbolic commitments in a letter sent to Real Madrid members that have resonated strongly among supporters: the reinstatement of the club’s traditional anthem and the recovery of the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy, which has been absent from the calendar for years.

Both proposals are presented alongside broader governance measures and form part of a program aimed at restoring what the candidate describes as greater prominence for club members in decision-making processes.

On the issue of season tickets, Riquelme outlines a series of reforms designed to widen access and increase transparency. These include the creation of a publicly audited waiting list, a notarized draw for 10,000 new season tickets with priority for Real Madrid families, and raising the resale return for season ticket holders to 70% with immediate payment.

He also proposes a 50% reduction in membership fees, with special conditions for young members, retirees, and those in financial difficulty, as well as the creation of a Member Advocate role as an independent oversight figure. According to the candidate, access to the stadium must no longer be managed without transparency.

The plan also includes the development of a Members’ City in Valdebebas, designed as a year-round space for social and sporting activities for supporters, along with a dedicated travel agency and support line for travelling members. Riquelme also commits to strengthening the women’s football section and the basketball team, which he considers historically under-supported.

On the institutional side, the candidate reaffirms his commitment to preserving member ownership and preventing the entry of investment funds into the club structure. "Real Madrid is not for sale," he writes, adding that institutional independence must remain non-negotiable.

He also calls for an audit of season ticket allocations and new membership registrations in recent years, a measure that indirectly questions the current administration, and pledges to defend the club in the Negreira case against what he describes as attempts to exploit it.

The letter concludes with an appeal for participation, quoting Edmund Burke: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." Voting takes place on Sunday.
