Enrique Riquelme has unveiled what he describes as his “Galáctico” signing as part of his Real Madrid presidential campaign, using an appearance on El Hormiguero to announce Erling Haaland as his headline target if he wins the election.

The Real Madrid candidate confirmed the Norwegian striker, currently contracted to Manchester City until 2034, as the star name of his sporting project just days before the vote at Valdebebas.

The announcement follows previous campaign moves in which Riquelme presented Raúl González Blanco as sporting director and Fernando Hierro as director of La Fábrica.

During the programme, Riquelme appeared with a shirt featuring Haaland’s name and presented what he described as a notarised document confirming the commitment. The striker’s name was revealed live on air at around 11:04 PM.

He also reiterated his stance on club ownership and his commitments to members.

"Nothing from the club will ever be sold, and it will remain 100% owned by the members. That's clearly stated here. If I break any of my promises regarding these players (Rodri and Haaland), I've signed a guarantee that in the event of any breach, I will pay 100% of all the members' dues for the following season," he revealed.
