The relationship between Real Madrid and the Ballon d'Or organizers is showing signs of improvement following the major rift that emerged in 2024.
According to MARCA, relations between the two parties are gradually strengthening again, with the connection beginning to return to normal after deteriorating significantly over the past two years.
The 2024 disagreement represented a major turning point in the relationship. Since then, the bond between Real Madrid and the organizers of one of football’s most prestigious individual awards had become increasingly strained. The latest developments, however, suggest that both sides are moving towards a better understanding.
The improvement is particularly relevant given Real Madrid’s strong presence throughout the history of the Ballon d'Or. The club has produced numerous winners and nominees over the years, making a positive relationship with the award organizers especially important.
The renewed connection could also prove significant in the coming years. Real Madrid currently have several of the biggest stars in world football, meaning their players are likely to remain regular contenders for major individual awards.
