Real Madrid began their 2026/27 La Liga campaign with a thrilling 3-2 derby victory over Atlético Madrid at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium, securing their first three points of the season.
The first half was full of action. Schröder was the standout performer for Real Madrid, scoring twice, while Toletti added a spectacular Olimpico goal. Jensen scored both goals for the visitors, keeping the derby finely balanced.
The second half was just as intense, although neither side managed to find the net again. Real Madrid were reduced to ten players in the 55th minute when Schröder was shown a straight red card. Thirteen minutes later, Atlético were also left with ten players after Gio received a red card.
Despite the drama and a second half without goals, Real Madrid held on to secure an important 3-2 victory in their opening league match of the season.
