According to journalist Patrick Berger, Real Madrid plans to exercise the buy option in the contract with Espanyol in order to keep Joselu with the team beyond this season.

Joselu had a brilliant season since returning to Real Madrid, and contributed with several crucial goals, of which his brace in the Champions League semifinal second leg against Bayern Munich was the most outstanding. So far, he has 17 goals and three assists in all competitions.

Everyone at the club is very happy with how the striker has done this season and are keen on keeping him for at least one more year.

Joselu has drawn attention from Saudi Arabian teams and Manchester United. However, it seems that he will stay at Real Madrid for an additional year. Although, there will be fierce competition next season with the arrival of Kylian Mbappe and Endrick.
