Real Madrid are expected to intensify contacts this week to determine the conditions required to sign Alessandro Bastoni from Inter Milan.

According to Fabio Gatto, the club wants to learn Inter's exact demands for the Italian defender. Although recent reports have suggested a fee of around €60 million, Florentino Pérez is reportedly seeking to establish the precise terms that could allow the transfer to be completed quickly.

The timing of any deal is considered important for José Mourinho, who is eager to have his squad assembled as early as possible for preseason.

The Portuguese coach has already expressed his desire to work with all of his players from the beginning of preseason, making the arrival of a new center-back before, or shortly after, the start of training a priority.

Real Madrid are still looking to add one more central defender before the transfer window closes, with Bastoni remaining one of the names under consideration.
