Real Madrid will face Valencia Basket in the semifinals of the EuroLeague on Friday, May 22, at 8:00 p.m. at the Telekom Center in Athens.
If Sergio Scariolo’s side reaches the final, Real Madrid will play against the winner of the semifinal between Olympiacos and Fenerbahce on Sunday, May 24, at 8:00 p.m.
The semifinal clash will mark the first meeting between Real Madrid and Valencia Basket at this stage of the EuroLeague since the 2010-11 season, when the two teams faced each other for the first time in the competition.
During the current EuroLeague regular season, both teams defended their home courts. Valencia Basket won 89-76, while Real Madrid responded with a 96-79 victory in Madrid.
The two Spanish sides have already met four times this season across all competitions. Real Madrid won twice in the Liga ACB and also defeated Valencia Basket in the Copa del Rey semifinals. Valencia Basket’s only victory came in the Spanish Super Cup.
