Real Madrid have officially kicked off preparations for the new season, but the first week of preseason has already brought injury setbacks.
The squad assembled at Hospital Blua Sanitas Valdebebas and Ciudad Real Madrid for routine medicals ahead of their first training session, scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, at the club’s training pavilion.
Los Blancos are set to play five friendlies in September before their first official challenge—the Spanish Supercopa. However, preseason tests have already flagged concerns over the fitness of two players.
Mario Hezonja has been diagnosed with a right hamstring injury sustained while playing for the Croatian national team this summer. Although no specific recovery timetable has been announced, his condition is described as “pending evolution,” leaving his availability for the Supercopa later in September in doubt.
German international David Kramer, recently integrated into Sergio Scariolo’s plans, is also sidelined after suffering a right adductor muscle injury during national team duty. His recovery, like Hezonja’s, will depend on how the injury progresses over the coming days.
