José Mourinho is not counting on Asencio, Ferland Mendy and Eduardo Camavinga, although none of the three players are willing to leave and all want to prove themselves this season. As a result, Real Madrid cannot pursue further signings unless they manage to make room in the squad.
According to Diario AS, Real Madrid are working to offload Mendy and Asencio before the summer transfer window closes. However, both departures face significant obstacles, making it difficult for the club to find solutions.
Asencio is unwilling to leave Real Madrid, where he has a long-term contract. Although the academy graduate is exploring the possibility of finding a new club, his priority remains staying at Real Madrid and earning his place in Mourinho’s squad.
Mendy’s situation is even more complicated due to his injury history. The Frenchman has struggled to attract offers, while his current long-term injury makes a move even less likely, with potential suitors unlikely to consider signing him for the current season.
As a result, Real Madrid have made little progress in finding destinations for either player and have yet to secure a buyer. Their situations are therefore limiting the club’s activity in the transfer market, leaving both players under Mourinho’s management for now.
