Mario Gila has become one of the most in-demand center-backs in Serie A, and his strong performances for Lazio have attracted the attention of several top clubs. Among them is AC Milan, who are ready to put €20 million on the table to sign the Spanish defender.
The move is already taking shape and would be finalized in the summer, when Gila will be entering the final year of his contract with Lazio. The transfer would also have a direct impact on Real Madrid, who still hold 50 percent of the player’s transfer rights. That clause means Los Blancos would earn €10 million from a defender developed at La Fábrica and handed his first-team debut at the club.
At 25, Gila has established himself as a reliable figure in Lazio’s defense over the past three and a half seasons. He joined the Italian side for €6 million, and his current market value is estimated at around €30 million. However, the proximity of his contract expiry is expected to bring the final fee closer to €20 million, a figure acceptable to both Milan and Lazio.
That amount would leave Real Madrid with a significant financial return of €10 million. While Milan are not the only club showing interest, their offer stands out due to the sporting appeal and prestige of the Rossoneri project.
