Real Madrid have reportedly set a maximum limit of €50 million for the signing of Rodri, according to journalist Látigo Serrano.

The Spanish midfielder remains one of the club’s main targets to strengthen the center of the pitch, although the operation is expected to be complicated due to Manchester City’s stance. The Premier League side are reportedly preparing a contract renewal offer worth €15 million net per season over three years.

That figure is significantly higher than the salary package Real Madrid are willing to offer. According to the same source, the Spanish club would not exceed €10 million net per year in order to maintain its wage structure.

Despite the financial difference, the sporting project could play an important role in the player’s decision. Látigo Serrano reports that José Mourinho is a strong admirer of Rodri’s profile and would immediately give him a key role in midfield if the move were completed.

The decision would ultimately depend on whether Rodri is willing to leave Manchester City and prioritize a move to Real Madrid.

Signing the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner would represent a major boost for the squad. Rodri would bring balance, leadership, and control to the midfield, qualities Mourinho reportedly considers essential for his project.

Real Madrid’s reported €50 million limit would also underline the club’s intention to remain financially disciplined while avoiding major disruption to the current salary structure. The move could also weaken one of Europe’s direct rivals at a time when uncertainty continues to surround Manchester City following Pep Guardiola’s expected departure.
