Real Madrid are set to benefit once again from the transfer strategy that has become known as the "Nico Paz formula."
Mario Gila is close to completing a move from Lazio to AC Milan in a deal worth €25 million, with an additional €5 million available through performance-related bonuses.
The Spanish center-back, who came through Real Madrid's academy, is set to leave Lazio after four seasons in Rome, having made 120 appearances for the Italian club.
Real Madrid retained 50 percent of Gila's rights when they sold him to Lazio in 2022. As a result, the club could receive up to €15 million if all the performance-related bonuses included in his transfer to AC Milan are achieved.
Gila is expected to sign a five-year contract with AC Milan worth €5 million per season, making him one of the club's highest-paid players.
