Real Madrid have set July 13 as the date for the start of preparations for the new season, with José Mourinho beginning his second spell in charge at Valdebebas.

The Portuguese coach has already informed the squad of the schedule. Mourinho arrived in Madrid on June 9 and checked into the Hotel Santo Mauro before holding his first meeting later that evening with José Ángel Sánchez, head scout Juni Calafat, and his agent Jorge Mendes. The discussions focused on laying the foundations for the club's new sporting project following Benfica's announcement of his departure.

From now on, Mourinho will work from Valdebebas as he plans the upcoming campaign, one that both the club and supporters approach with high expectations after two difficult seasons.

Players involved in the World Cup will be granted between two and three weeks of vacation following the tournament, meaning their return will take place in stages. The rest of the squad, however, has already been instructed to report on July 13.

The World Cup has also forced changes to Real Madrid's preseason plans. The club has decided against its traditional summer tour of the United States due to scheduling constraints.

Instead, the team will prepare through a series of friendly matches, including the Teresa Herrera Trophy against Deportivo La Coruña, ahead of the opening La Liga fixture scheduled for the weekend of August 15. With the start of preseason approaching, the countdown to Mourinho's new era is underway.
