Álvaro Arbeloa is officially Real Madrid’s new head coach, and his appointment is neither temporary nor an interim solution. The club has placed full confidence in him by signing a contract that extends beyond the end of the current season.

According to information obtained by this newspaper, Arbeloa has agreed to a deal covering the remainder of this season plus one additional year. This confirms Real Madrid’s intention for him to remain in charge of the first team beyond June, unless the sporting director and club president determine that the sporting objectives have not been met and decide to terminate the agreement.

Despite this show of trust, Arbeloa chose to remain cautious during his first public appearance as Real Madrid coach. He declined to discuss the details of his contract and limited his comments to a brief statement, saying that he will stay in the role “as long as the club wants me.”
