Real Madrid is preparing for an ambitious transfer market in the summer of 2025, with plans to bolster every area of the squad. The club’s primary focus is on enhancing its defensive lineup, ensuring that Carlo Ancelotti—or whoever may be managing the team by then—has top-tier options available.

According to The Athletic, Juni Calafat, Real Madrid’s chief scout, is currently tracking four key defensive targets. Leading the list is Castello Lukeba, a 21-year-old standout from RB Leipzig, who recently extended his contract with the German club. Lukeba’s name has been linked to the club for several weeks.

Also under close observation is Vitor Reis, an 18-year-old rising star at Palmeiras, who has garnered attention from various Premier League clubs. His immense potential makes him a player Real Madrid is keen to follow closely.

In addition to these youthful prospects, the club is eyeing more experienced options. Aymeric Laporte, 30, currently playing for Al-Nassr, is on Real Madrid's radar due to his veteran presence and defensive reliability. His wealth of experience at top clubs makes him an appealing candidate.

Lastly, 28-year-old Jonathan Tah of Bayer Leverkusen is also a possible target. With his contract expiring in the summer, Real Madrid could consider bringing him in on a free transfer, an option they are seriously evaluating.

The next few weeks will be pivotal in determining Real Madrid’s priorities and strategies for the 2025 transfer market, as the club quietly works to secure its defensive reinforcements.
