Real Madrid have Declan Rice firmly on their radar as they look to strengthen their midfield in the future. According to TEAMtalk, the Arsenal midfielder has significant support within the club, with influential figures believing he should be one of the priority targets for the position. José Mourinho is also said to be a major admirer of the England international and what he could bring to Real Madrid’s midfield.

Rice would offer a combination of physicality, leadership, ball recovery and quality in possession that fits the profile Real Madrid are looking for. The 27-year-old has established himself as one of the Premier League’s leading midfielders and recently played a key role for Arsenal, the English champions.

At Valdebebas, the club have been exploring several options to further strengthen the midfield, with Rice emerging as one of the most attractive candidates. TEAMtalk had already reported months ago that influential figures close to Florentino Pérez were recommending the Englishman as their preferred target.

However, any move would be extremely complicated. Arsenal consider Rice a key part of Mikel Arteta’s project and are already working on a contract extension, despite his current deal running until 2028.

The initial indications in London are positive, with Arsenal confident of reaching an agreement to secure Rice’s future before Real Madrid or any other European giant can make a serious move.

Real Madrid have not made an offer at this stage, but the interest coming from Spain is clear. For Arsenal, the growing admiration for Rice at the Bernabéu could become a major concern if Madrid decide to turn that interest into action.
