Real Madrid have reportedly decided to keep Aurélien Tchouaméni despite earlier speculation that the midfielder could be sold this summer.
The club had been considering the possibility of a major sale to create room for further signings, with strengthening the midfield initially identified as one of the priorities for the transfer window.
According to Ramón Álvarez de Mon, however, Real Madrid have now ruled out Tchouaméni's departure, meaning the France international will not be joining Manchester United.
The Premier League club had emerged as the leading candidate to sign the midfielder. Real Madrid were reportedly prepared to consider offers in the region of €100 million before changing their stance.
Manchester United were also said to be ready to submit a significant offer, although matching Tchouaméni's current salary at the Santiago Bernabéu was expected to be a challenge. The English club were waiting for Real Madrid to authorize negotiations, but the report states that the transfer will no longer go ahead.
