Thibaut Courtois has received positive news after undergoing medical tests at Real Madrid City on Monday morning.
The examinations, carried out to assess the injury that forced the Belgian goalkeeper off during his country's World Cup quarterfinal against Spain, ruled out any serious damage. The club's medical staff determined that the issue was only a minor setback.
Courtois was forced off in Los Angeles after suffering muscle discomfort with the score level at 1-1. He was replaced by Sennen Lammens, who conceded the goal that sent Spain through to the semifinals. The images of Courtois leaving the pitch in tears raised concerns, particularly because the discomfort affected the same area that had troubled him earlier in the year.
Following the positive test results, Courtois will continue his scheduled vacation before returning to Real Madrid at the end of July as part of the club's staggered return plan for players involved in the World Cup. The injury is not expected to alter José Mourinho's plans for the goalkeeper.
