Real Madrid have reportedly identified Nico Schlotterbeck as one of their preferred defensive targets ahead of next season.
The Borussia Dortmund defender has been linked with Real Madrid for several months, with his profile highly valued at Valdebebas due to his defensive qualities, ball distribution, and physical presence.
At 26 years old and standing at 1.91 meters, Schlotterbeck is viewed as a player with the experience and attributes required to compete at the highest European level.
Although the possibility of a move appeared to cool after the German international recently renewed his contract with Borussia Dortmund, reports from Sky Germany claim the agreement includes a €60 million release clause.
According to the same reports, Real Madrid are prepared to activate that clause during the summer transfer window.
