Real Madrid have reportedly intensified their legal action in the Negreira Case by requesting additional documentation from Barcelona.
According to former referee Xavier Estrada, one of the key figures involved in the case, Real Madrid has asked the judge to order Barcelona to submit its full compliance system covering the period between 2010 and 2018. The club wants to determine what anti-corruption controls were in place and whether they were properly implemented.
As a private prosecutor in the ongoing criminal proceedings, Real Madrid has also requested invoices, payment authorizations, internal procedures and audit reports relating to Tresep, Radamanto and Best Norton. According to the request, these documents were previously sought but have not been included in the case file.
Estrada also stated that Real Madrid believes the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) had structural deficiencies that allowed the system to operate for years. He added that the club points to a referee evaluation model based on arbitrariness and favoritism, which retired Judge Joaquín Aguirre reportedly described as "systemic corruption." According to Estrada, the case extends beyond Barcelona's payments and also focuses on how the refereeing structure allegedly enabled the system to function.
