The defeat in El Clásico against Barcelona was viewed internally as the perfect reflection of a season marked by inconsistency, lack of intensity, and major structural problems within the squad.

The first major decision concerns the coaching position. According to the reports, José Mourinho is now the leading candidate to take over the team, with the final decision largely depending on whether the Portuguese coach accepts the challenge. Mourinho has reportedly been fully informed about the dressing room issues and the overall situation inside the club.

Real Madrid’s management still believes the squad contains enough quality to recover next season, especially with stronger leadership from the bench. The club sees the defensive line as the area most urgently requiring reinforcement, with several signings expected this summer.

There are also major doubts surrounding several defenders, including Ferland Mendy, David Alaba, Dani Carvajal, Raúl Asencio, and Álvaro Carreras.
