Real Madrid remain determined to sign Enzo Fernández this summer, with the Argentine midfielder continuing to be one of the club's top priorities.

According to the report, Fernández is eager to join Los Blancos, particularly after Chelsea failed to qualify for European competition next season. Real Madrid's hierarchy reportedly view the Argentine as the ideal player to restore balance and quality to the midfield.

José Mourinho is also said to be a strong admirer of Fernández and has given his approval to prioritize the Chelsea midfielder over other targets, including Ayyoub Bouaddi. The Portuguese coach is looking for immediate impact, and he believes Fernández can provide it.

Despite that interest, completing the transfer will be difficult. Chelsea have made it clear they do not intend to sell one of their key players for less than the €120 million they paid Benfica, with reports suggesting the asking price could rise to €140 million.

For now, Real Madrid are reportedly prepared to wait until Argentina's World Cup campaign comes to an end before making their next move. The club hope Fernández will publicly express his desire to join, similar to his comments during the April international break when he admitted he "would like to live in Madrid."

According to the report, the player's entourage are currently avoiding any transfer-related distractions while Argentina remain focused on the World Cup, particularly after the controversy surrounding Julián Álvarez's remarks about a potential departure from Atlético Madrid.
