Vinicius Junior’s future will remain tied to Real Madrid for many years, with his new contract keeping him at the club until 2032.

Both the player and the club were keen to extend their partnership, but negotiations stalled for several months, creating uncertainty as Vinicius entered the final year of his previous contract.

The Brazilian returned from his holiday without an agreement in place, while Arsenal emerged as a serious contender for his signature. The English club reportedly wanted to make a significant investment in Vinicius as part of their search for a superstar to complete their project.

Arsenal’s interest was genuine and prompted Real Madrid to accelerate negotiations. The renewal was eventually completed, reportedly leaving the Gunners disappointed after believing they had a realistic chance of signing the forward.

According to SER, Arsenal had gained considerable ground in the race for Vinicius, to the point that several Real Madrid players reportedly believed his departure was becoming increasingly likely.

The official announcement of his renewal therefore came as a surprise to members of the squad. In fact, the signing of Yan Diomande had initially been viewed internally as a possible replacement should Vinicius leave the club.

Instead, Real Madrid ultimately honored their commitment to the Brazilian and secured his long-term future at the Bernabéu. Diomande’s arrival was subsequently viewed as an additional attacking reinforcement rather than a replacement for Vinicius.
